Statistics:

compacted changes + V3.sources:   27.3MB
compacted sources: (V39.sources):  17.4 MB

compressed sources (V39.stc):          5.9 MB
Sadly the compressed sources does not work.... the size seems to be  
ok and in the ballpark of the numbers

I wonder what's broken... would be cool to have.
