Unstable in what way?  I've been using all the cygnus tools (including bash)
on Win95, NT4.0 and now Windows 2000 with no problems. (for the last 3
years).
I would much prefer a cygnus/bash setup to any dos approach...  (Of course
I'm a long standing Unix bigot, so apply necessary filters).
