UNIX downloads? (with Windows answers)

It really depends.  The latest official, stable VM for Unix is version
2.7.  But 3.0pre2 seems plenty good, especially if you apply the patches
off my patches page.

This situation isn't rosy, but it's where we are.  I've updated the
DownloadForUnix page to spell this out.
