It's actually up to you, though.  Squeak is not append only unless you
want it to be.  You should check out Monticello if you have not.

But yes, I agree that there is a lot of benefit to delivering the same
thing that the programmers were working with.  Every change you make as
part of deployment, is a new opportunity to introduce bugs, and thus
more stuff that needs to be tested.
