[Vm-dev] git build problem on Pi

This appears to have problems on my Pi - I get two complaints about no such file or directory .
‘cp: cannot create regular file ‘./scripts/../.git/hooks/post-commit’: No such file or directory’ and a simialr one for post-merge
I have the .git directory but it contains no ‘hooks’ directory.
