[ENH]SystemWindow SimpleButtonMorph

Hello, Here is a stab at the basic look of the SystemWindow closeBox and collapseBox. I just added some RectangleMorphs and that was quite easy. The not so easy part was the SimpleButtonMorph. I needed a update to submorphs while the button was pressed and added a #actWhilePressed selector. I know, I know, I could have sub classed but I think this is a quite general selector for buttons, often one needs more than one selector and here is a attempt at that. [bug] [fix] [updates] Weirdness in FileList menu

Folks - It appears that update 2011PNGstuff sustained a bit of damage in some line-wrapper, causing the text for the 'read image into ImageImports' menu item to appear on two lines, and thus fouling up the rest of any menu with that option. No one had reported this, but I've just issued a couple of updates including the fix for this problem. - Dan

Hi James! Welcome to Squeak! :-) You've just discovered that Smalltalk dialects are not all the same. I got curious about the differences myself, so I did a bit of experimenting. If you search for implementors of nextWord, you'll quickly discover that this method is implemented by PositionableStream. It answers the next two bytes from the receiver as an Integer. Of course, this is not what you wanted. Then next thing you'll find is that PositionableStream's nextString method won't work either (because this method requires information up front about how long the string will be!). You'd think that there was a simpler solution to this general problem (and there probably is), but I couldn't find it. The following class demonstrates a solution to your example. Class Food has a class method foodsFromPathName: which does what you're interested in. This may not be the optimal solution, but it'll get you going... Could we get this added into the 2.8 release stream? I show this method in a browser in part of my book, and the comment is wrong. The demo ends when you click any button on the mouse, not any key on the keyboard. Thanks! [Enh] Music Editor

I'm posting this for Eddie Cottongim, another GaTech Squeaker senior who's busily packing up for graduation. Attached is a Zip file of his music editor. There's a ReadMe that explains some of it. Eddie's tool lets you place notes on staffs, right-click them to change duration, create multiple staffs, and then generate MIDI ScorePlayers to play the result. He's implemented his own font system to gain more control over the individual notes. [ENH] Basis for flexible source code management

Hi, recently, the source file size limit of 16M was raised to 32M, with the side-effect of only allowing 2 source files from then on. This somehow conflicts with my plans for a Squeak source code management system (Collage) which has separate source files for every application. To keep that path open while still supporting larger source files, I've written these changes which concentrate all translation between sourcePointers and source file indexes/positions in one single place. I've chosen to replace the global variable SourceFiles, which is currently an Array of two FileStreams (normally), by an instance of a subclass of SourceFileArray, which can hold such files and additionally provides the appropriate mapping methods. Using this approach, it should be fairly easy to change source file access to a multi-file system as used by Collage, or a database or network server interface such as that used for the SqueakCVS project. Please, SqC: Consider these changes for inclusion in the standard release. I think that apart from the better extensibility of this scheme, it has the big advantage of keeping all this ugly stuff in a central place, making its maintenance easier. Note: These changesets must be loaded in the correct order, and you should load them after 2004BigSources-di because they have conflicting method definitions.
