I'm not going to turn this discussion into a this-database-is-better-than-yours flamewar, but I do know a bit on the topic and they have made a very bad decision and they are proven wrong by the fact that Postgres outperforms them especially when scaling up (MVCC is far better than table locking). [Bug] Typo in the Welcome Too... Startup Screen

Just tried to run the: Project thumbnailFromUrl: 'http://www.squeak.org/Squeak2.0/FinalFrontier.morph.gz'. in the Networking section of the Welcome To... startup window. It seems that the thumbnailFromUrl: method is now replaced by fromUrl: . Personally, I'd ignore this since I know how to fix it. But since we appear to be close to cutting a CD it seems that giving a good first impression is more important than ever. I'll have to leave the [FIX] for this to someone else since I can't for the life of me find where in the code this is located. Steve Gilbert

[BUG] Morphic inner worlds cannot be closed, then stop working

In 2.9a-3278, if you open a Morphic inner world window from within a Morphic project, the title bar is messed up in such a way that the window can't be closed. (It is collapsable, though.) Worse, if you activate the inner world window by clicking in it, the outer world doesn't seem to work anymore (mouse-clicks don't do anything). If you open a browser within the inner world, then mouse-clicks stop working everywhere. (This problem doesn't happen in a 2774 image, but does happen in a 2915 image, so it's been around a little while.) - Doug Way dway(a)riskmetrics.com

[FIX] Several MVC-related things

Hi, here are a couple of changes which fix and improve MVC display. Selecting after the last blank in a line would not work if the blank crosses the right margin 2. Indenting was seriously broken 3. TextAction feedback would only highlight up to the next-to-last character in the range. In addition, speeds up text display in a number of cases, and utilizes deferred updating in MVC to achieve much smoother displaying on slowish machines. (This was already posted in September 2000 but not included in the base image)

You seem to be talking about two issues. You can indeed peek at the keyboard buffer -- see #keyboardPeek. Global command keys?

I followed the discussion on command keys (for turning on the charRecog), and would like to add a global hotkey to close windows (like Cmd-W on Mac OS or Ctrl-F4/Alt-F4/Ctrl-W/Ctrl-X/Ctrl-E/probably more on Windows). I see that the command key stuff is attached to ParagraphEditor, which makes it very non-global. How can I go about adding this? Is there any reason that it's not been done already?
