When I saw the uCsimm project, I immediately thought about a parallel project to utilize the uCsimm, where you'd have an open experimentation platform based on the uCsimm pinout. Any other SIMM-based project that used the new "standard" could reuse the board for keyboard/power/serial/ethernet/etc. making the barriers to experimentation that much lower. Which is also where I started thinking about the Pocket Mac Classic. An open-platform PDA where you could change it's nature by replacing a SIMM, but reuse the chicklet keys and low-res screen, etc. So, if you'd rather have a Pocket C-64, Pocket Apple II or Pocket Sinclair, voila. And the companies who can afford to do more, there's always the XScale/WinCE SIMM, PalmOS SIMM, etc. (Way off topic, sorry) -Jack

TrueTypeTextStyle ver.5

Hello, I revised TrueTypeTextStyle. In this version, you can use any size of fonts. (though you might want to stick to the multiple of 3). Also now it works in Nebraska. It is on the SqueakMap, so, enjoy! -- Yoshiki

Greetings brave experimenters. For those of you foolhardy enough to try code so fresh it still has the cowflop sticking to it, here is a real treat. The attached code, when filed in, ought to remove all the VM generation related classes and all the associated methods scattered around the image. I bet I've missed some though. It seems to reduce the size of my image by about a megabyte and said image reports no entries in Undeclared and no references to obsolete classes. [ANN] SmaCC Development 1.2 now on SqueakMap

Hi, I finally managed to put up the fixed version of Alain on SqueakMap, SourceForge wanted to know an OSI-approved license, before I could start a project there, so I kept the sources on my emergent.de ftp-site. :-/ Actually this is a good reason to have something like SourceForge on our own, or to have an approved license, though I don't want to restart that discussion here... Thanks to Alain Plantec, Marcus Denker and Jesse Welton. As we can now both accept in the Scanner/Parser-Page, which gives us direct feedback if any error occured, or autoaccept, when moving to the other page but without having direct feedback, we don't need the changeset of Jesse any more. From the version-info: New changes from Alain Plantec: - both possibilities for scanner/parser code verifying: on code pane or by compiling scanner/parser - window is now labelled with the scanner/parser names (useful when playing with severals smacc windows) - if not empty, test pane become unaccepted when compiling scanner/parser (it only enable alt-s accept again) - bug fix : whenever an error occur (scanner, parser and test pane), error message is now really selected on the code pane - all panes have a classical contextual menu (middle button), now you can accept, cancel etc. - one can read/write file from all code panes (middle button menu) - some other controls have been inserted New changes from Marcus Denker: - SmaCC can be opened from the World-Menu Known bugs: - The "find" problem is not fixed. Yoshiki, What is stopping you from running the scripts on a 3.4 system and working on that? Can you elaborate a little on what the significance of that 3.2 image is? It might be easier to move that content forward than to find and fix the problem in the 3.2 code. If that is impractical, could you elaborate on what exactly doesn't work? if it causes a walk back, a bug report from the debugger might help someone spot the problem. Good - while an addition of functionality to the image, and therefore maybe controvertial, I would argue for it's acceptance as an ENH. Making the SM package independent so more people can test it would be a good first step.
