Beginner's question - link to code

Hi, I am reading a book called Streamlined Modeling which includes it's source code for Squeak. I have downloaded and installed Squeak successfully and I have followed the book's instructions to see the source code. My question is - can I run this code in Squeak as an application and if so how? link to the source: http://www.streamlinedmodeling.com/source.html Any insight is appreciated regards, Glen

Change by Andreas Raab." To observe this bug, execute "HandMorph showEvents: true" and observe the starting point for mouse moves. Its usually wrong - most of the time, start point = end point. It makes much more sense after the patch. The change makes sense to me. startPosition is now set to the hand's current position. Since the hand hasn't yet been moved in response to the event being formed, it makes sense that the hand's current position will the the starting point for the next mouse move event. Someone should see if this helps/hurts Genie - Genie uses the start position for mouse moves. I'm suprised it would work at all given the old, broken behavior. Thanks, Eddie

[BUG][RB] Pushing up a class method has a truncated dialog message

I had a class-side method I wanted to push up to the superclass. I got the context menu up (is this the yellow button?), selected the Push Up Method option, and got a little popup menu. All well and good. Except I only see half the message - the other half runs off the edge of the menu so gets effectively truncated. What I see is "Do you want to copy down the superclass method to the classes that don't define ins Do you want to proceed?" getting bugs to the right people

I spent an hour or so yesterday trawling through BFAV, and so now I feel like a real user and have grounds to point out a, umm, missing feature. Most of the things I see being unreviewed are things that very specific people *can* address or *should* address. For example, if there is a bug in the MorphicWrappers package or the Comanche, then only the maintainer of that package can really address and close the bug. I'm not sure that these people are always seeing the bugs at all. Further, I'm not sure that *I* should be seeing them as a random BFAV reviewer. It's truly mindnumbing to go through tons of bugs on packages that you don't know much about. Along these lines, sometimes we do not have a maintainer when we probably should. As a particular example, is anyone in charge of maintaining etoys as time goes by? Someone posted a changeset that adds a new command to all etoy objects, but this is the kind of improvement that cannot be evaluated by itself. The exact set of commands included in etoys is very much a matter of taste and it requires that some take a look at all the options and choose a set of commands that make sense as a whole. These decisions can't effectively be made one at a time. Similarly, we can't really evaluate whether one small change to buttons should be included; it takes a UI designer to look at a set of changes and evaluate them as a whole. It wouldn't work to simply start sending in one changeset at a time from Zurgle; Zurgle should be included all or nothing. Here's a feature that could address these concerns: attach *every* bug to some specific package. That way, the appropriate people can see the message, because BFAV can automatically email the maintainer of the package. Further, inapporpriate people can *avoid* seeing the message; unless I look at MorphicWrapper bugs I won't see them. Note, by the way, that we can also have a "don't know" package to assign bugs when the user really doesn't know. This is especially acceptible if it is possible to reassign bugs after they have been created. Just a thought. Your eyes do not deceive you, and there is no code attached to this email. :) Lex

You need to install Monticello for it to install. The current version of Monticello I'm using is 147 I think, although I see there is now a new release of Monticello on Squeakmap. http://map1.squeakfoundation.org/sm/package/66236497-7026-45f5-bcf6-ad00ba7… Install this and then Ma client server should install fine. Hi Kwiyi, there is a framework for transmitting complex objects as requests and receiving complex objects as responses. It works in the latest version of Squeak and is very easy to use. http://minnow.cc.gatech.edu/squeak/2978 Let me know if you have any questions. - Chris

This appears to be the same problem reported by Stéphan Ducasse. The problem is caused by 5923PSPointSizeFix-nk.cs . However it appears to be some sort of re-initialization thing. [FIX] isSafeForHttp. ~ is not safe!

Hi all, I have found a small bug in the http encoding. The tilde character (~) is unsafe for the http protocol and must be encoded: http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1738.html I have attached a small fix.
