HowTo for isqueak isntallation?

Anyone have a pointer to a detailed howto for getting isqueak running on the iphone? Also, any sample isqueak projects out there to show how to get started once we get things running? Thanks. Lawson

Statistics on merging Cuis with 3.10 on Morph hierarchy

Hi, here is a statistics I made about taking Squeak 3.10 and merging Cuis with it on the Morph hierarchy, just to have an idea on how much it could take... Number of Classes removed in Cuis: 265 Number of Classes added on 3.10: 0 Number of Classes added on Cuis: 5 Number of Classes to merge: 59 Number of same methods: 930 Number of changed methods on Cuis: 117 Number of new methods on Cuis: 66 Number of conflicting methods: 44 (method on 3.7 is different that the one in 3.10 that in Cuis) Number of changed methods on current: 109 (from 3.7) Number of removed methods on Cuis: 796 Number of new methods in current: 2192 Hope it is useful!

More distributed version control

Folks - Just as a side note to anyone who is interested in distributed version control systems, I thought it's interesting to see that they get more and more widely adopted. This just popped up on Python-dev: http://mail.python.org/pipermail/python-dev/2009-March/087931.html I'm wondering if this has any impact on our thinking with respect to Monticello, change sets etc? Problem with TimeStamp class and ODBC package

Hi, Trying some things with Aida/Web, I got an error with TimeStamp class in one image with a MNU #day. The problem, seems, thath ODBC Package, reimplement TimeStamp class, changing his parent to Magnitude, and changing some selectors. Initially, TimeStamp (is in Kernel-Chronology category) and is subclass of DateAndTime thath is subclass of Magnitude. DateAndTime is who has #day In my image with the problems, I have installed ODBC, and TimeStamp, is subclass of Magnitude, and is in Kernel-Magnitude category. Changing Magnitude subclass: #TimeStamp by DateAndTime subclass: #TimeStamp I can access to Aida Interface on localhost:8888 and the problem seems solved, but, I don't know if could be colateral damage for this change, because ODBC change more things on this class. I tried to contact with Diego Gómez Deck, but I didn't get any response. Somebody can solve this? Cheers.

Maintenance of 3.10

Dear Squeakers, Is Squeak 3.10 still maintained in the sense that bugs are fixed? lf yes, who is the maintainer? In other words: Who has the password to upload new images to ftp.squeak.org/3.10? If I remember correctly 3.8 and 3.9 were maintained like that. I also wonder what is the best filter to use on Mantis to find all open bugs in the latest 3.10.2 image, i.e. the one newbies download as the latest stable release. Cheers, Bernhard

Class definition and ChangeSets

Hi all, I am one of those holdouts, still doing my squeak developing with change sets instead of MC. At a point in my project I decided to clean up by switching to a new change set. I am not sure what I did. I ended up with a new change set with all the methods for the classes I need. Problem was the class definitions were missing. Left behind. So the only way I can load the new stuff is to load all the old stuff first. Curiously, I can not find where a change record is made for the class definition. It does not appear in the dual change sorter. And the sorter does not offer me a way to move just the class definition from one side to the other. I've tried inspecting the change set (from the second menu) and from there explored the dictionary of changes. I saw nothing that looked like the definition change record. What am I missing? I would like to know how to solve this problem within the realm of changeset development. Answers, even clues will be appreciated. Yours in curiosity and service, --Jerome Peace

Linking a plugin with a library

Hi all, I'd appreciate some help with building a plugin for Windows. The plugin generates and compiles fine; the problem is at the link stage. I don't know how to configure the make so that it links the plugin with a library that it requires. I've searched the web but I haven't been able to find anything that covers this specifically. Any pointers you can give me would be welcomed. Thanks, --John John Daniels
