compared to "the real thing" like StORE it has some very serious shortcomings which makes it unsuitable as the basis for a nice, friendly versioning system for a Smalltalk environment. The most serious thing missing is lack of metadata versioning, working around is probably just as hard as building something new on top of a decent versioning system.
I feel somewhat the same as Cees.
Over the years I've used various "fileout-checkin/checkout-filein" SC systems for Smalltalk code, and they all suck compared to "the real thing". I haven't been anxious to try yet another one for Squeak.
If I remember correctly, somebody at Smalltalk Solutions 2001 demo'd a Squeak image hooked to a VisualAge image, using the VisualAge/Envy engine for the Squeak code.
Or was I imagining that?

P.S. I got an error when I sent this the first time, so I sent it again. It might show up twice-- sorry if it does.
