Well, Spoon's kernel image is so small, you can see all of it running at once :). But I don't see either project precluding the other, in fact.
How small is that 3.9 image, code wise?
471 class mirrors now, the original image contains 2096 classes. Version for Squeak 3.7 had 336 class mirrors. It needs still radical cleanup - above all there are many unnecessary methods.
