Website processes now started automatically

With Brad's assistance I have set things up so that the two website processes are started and restarted automatically using daemontools. If you want to know more run ~/readme.sh on the server (which is what the old script now do so there are no accidents). Ken

Need to restart Squeak processes for website

It appears that for reasons I'm not aware of the server was rebooted some 14 hours ago. As a result some things that have never been setup to be restarted automatically did not. For example your two squeak website processes. Please start these as soon as possible. Ken

New links for the front page

Hi following a request from me and Aaron Reichow, Ken Causey created two new URLs: http://news.squeak.org and http://wiki.squeak.org . These URLs use HTTP redirection to bring the user to the Weekly Squeak blog and to the Squeak Wiki respectively. Can you update the links on the front page of www.squeak.org? Thanks, Giovanni

There is more than one way to go about this. However Goran has been using daemontools (on Cees suggestion I believe) for some time now for SqueakMap and with some success. You can find information about daemontools in general (which are installed on box2) at http://cr.yp.to/daemontools.html As far as specifically using them on box2: You have to setup a directory that supervise http://cr.yp.to/daemontools/supervise.html will use for information about the process to start and keep running the process. Basically you just need a directory with an executable run script. You can find an example of one on box2 in /home/squeakmap/service/run . When you have a script that seems to work, let me know, I will take a look at it and set up the rest. Hi , we're french guys and , at school , we're just learning "Squeak" and searching some examples to help us. Our teachers doesn't know this language that's why we ask it to you !! Would you be so kind as to send us a little script of a squeak application!! Remenber we're novices ....Thankfully
