That's a good idea - but what form should the warning take?  Should it 
raise an error?  That seems a little heavyweight.

I guess the Transcript is usually used for such things, but I, at 
least, rarely have a Transcript open... hm, maybe Transcript entries 
should show below the dev toolbar inside the web browser?
