Maybe I'm misundertanding but it sounds like you are saying I could go
back and retroactively change this.  I disagree.  The update stream is
public and once it has been updated anyone can have modified their image
based on it.  Once that is done if we then go back and change the update
stream it could potentially cause people problems.  The update stream
must be treated as an append-only stream.
