Windows process info from Squeak

Hello Is there a way to get information about Windows XP processes from Squeak? Smth like how much RAM is the process using? What is PID of the process? And so on. Any hints or workaraunds are very much welcome. Best regards, Valdas Bucinskas

nil in SuspendedDelays???

Below a stack trace we've been seeing a couple of times lately in our wxSqueak project (which is mostly 3.8). It seems that SuspendedDelays has a nil element somewhere. However, the code in Delay seems to be safe against that and I can't see any code elsewhere in the image that messes around with delays... Has anyone ever seen this? [Q] Stable Image of MVC?

Hi, I've managed to create 3.8 version of MVC only image (with Shout + Network-Kernel + Some Unicode Korean font). But found that when my network server code goes wrong, the whole GUI system seems to be wrong. For example, during this state, if I left click to display menu, two menus are displayed with cascaded style(wrong!) and I cannot select any of its item and windows. Now, I want to know what version of squeak (MVC) is stable to be used for development/debugging and etc? Thanks in advance.

SOAP system SUnit tests failing unless debugged?

Hello all. I'm playing with the soap toolkit from SqueakMap, but something seems to be wrong: If I run some SUnit tests (specifically client ones - such as SoapHttpClientTestCase, or SoapCallTestCase) they are failing, saying they cannot connect to the server (localhost, port 8823). However, if I step through the tests via debugging, right into the point where the call is made to the server, the call appears to work fine (a connection is made, the expected return is received). What could be wrong here? It's almost like with the automated tests the server is dying before the tests are ever connecting. Progress with bluetooth

Hi All, Here is my first spike with squeak, bluetooth and osx, if you look at a previous thread you can see I use the ObjectiveC plugin by Avi. So.. the code: bundle := NSBundle bundleWithPath:'/System/Library/Frameworks/IOBluetoothUI.framework'. bundle load. selectorController := bundle classNamed:'IOBluetoothDeviceSelectorController'. deviceSelector := selectorController deviceSelector. deviceSelector runModal. deviceSelector getResults. If you paste it in a workspace you should see the selector window open itself and you can choose the bluetooth device you want to connect. bye Davide

Debugging a plugin

Hi Can anyone enlighten me on the best approach to debug a plugin under Windows. The code essentially works in its native form but as a plugin doesn't do what it should, but doesn't crash or throw exceptions either. I would settle for getting hold of stdout/stderr but I can't get OSProcess to hook these and I read it doesn't yet support hooking the standard streams in Windows. I am using Dev-C++ to build the plugin and have tried pointing that at Squeak but it won't play. question(s) from a newcomer Squeak-fan about changes and images

Hello all, I've been playing with Squeak (and smalltalk) for a bit now, and i just LOVE it. Being an old school programmer im still a bit overwhelmed by the concept (and all consequences of that) ... ;). One of the things i'm having a hard time with to 'grasp' is the relation between the image and the changes file. What i think to understand is: - the changes file keeps all changes done to the image. I Never have to explicitly save the (current) changes file... - image file is saved when i ask for it... and keeps all contents (data) of the current world. - then there is also a sources file which is like changes but "readonly" ? What i dont get is, do these files just grow forever ?. Or do i (at a certain point in development) incorparate all changes in the image and then start a new changes file ? I've also seen the SqueakLight image, how is a thing like this made ? I have seen and looked at the diff manager, and i understand its meaning (in a cvs kind of understanding), but im unsure of the whole concept of it. I hope this makes any sense ... Yoshiki: I just download. And load 49 updates. I found 0489 "Change Set: nebraskaFix Date: 28 September 2005 Author: Yoshiki Ohshima Make Nebraska work (again) in Vancouver image." Must fileOut and fileIn in 3.9 also ? Curious, what is the Vancouver image ? Also found 0483 "Change Set: WideSymbolIntern Date: 10 September 2005 Author: Takashi Yamamiya Do intern wide symbol when load a project. " I think this could cure several project loading problems I have Again , very, very thanks to all what work hard.
