FileDoesNotExistException on existing changes file during trunk update

Dear fellow Squeakers, I continued my quest to create a current clean 4.6 trunk imge and still run into problems. I am on OS X 10.9.4. I use Eliot's latest Cog.app and the 4.5 release image (Squeak4.5-13680.image) from the FTP server. See here [1] for the bash commands I use to set up my starting point. Then I execute the following script in a workspace: MCMcmUpdater defaultUpdateURL: 'http://source.squeak.org/trunk'; updateFromServer. During processing of update-eem.287.mcm a popup menu appears saying that the Squeak4.5-13680.changes file does not exist. This is incorrect because the file exists. When I choose Debug I get FileDoesNotExistException. See the attached PNG and SqueakDebug.log. I would be interested if others run into the same problem. [ANN] Pointer Detective

greetings all, I had an itch to scratch... I find it difficult using the tree list of the standard Pointer Explorer to track down why objects aren't garbage collected. I always fear I'm not going to notice getting caught in a reference loop. So I created a tool presenting an alternative view as a directed graph. The graph incrementally builds out from the target object as you explore it. Nodes are colourised to help manage complexity. The attached snapshot is produced from evaluating the following Workspace script... testObject := 'END5'. ref1 := { testObject. nil }. ref2 := { ref1 }. ref3 := PDTestResource new heldObject: ref2. ref1 at: 2 put: ref3. Now I expect I'm duplicating something done before, but I couldn't find anything quickly and it was an opportunity for some goal direct learning of Morphic. Thanks to Roassal an option for a spring-force layout is provided. That code was copied rather than create a dependency, and might need to be rationalized later. How to use Tracing Messages Browser (was: Visual Studio plugins starting to catch on)

That's why it provides gestures for rapidly trimming the sub queries and sub results to only the relevant ones. It's about "building a Trace", which is much more powerful than modal "navigation". For example, you can easily represent *multiple* paths of code that cut across classes quickly and easily in a single TMB. Your comment indicates you really should give it another try. Let me help! TMB is only about adding and removing. Here are the MINIMUM gestures you need to use TMB effectively, but it sounds like you only used the "Adding gestures" but not the "Removing" ones. Adding gestures: command+n in the upper-pane: Outdent senders command+m in the lower pane: Indent implementors command+n in the lower-pane: Spawn senders in a new window Removing gestures: swipe-select in the uppser pane: select multiple methods shift+command+I (capital "Eye"): invert the selection at the current level command+d in the upper-pane: remove the selected methods from the list Example: So, when I have a method named something like at:, and I only want to see the one in MY particular class(es), after pressing command+m on "at:" in the lower-pane, I simply single-select the one(s) I want in the upper-pane (notice, they're sorted alphabetically, so easy to find), and then press Command+Shift+I followed by Command+d. Done. Example 2: Go "back" You pressed "Senders" in the upper pane and got all these senders. But you decided you don't want them afterall. Just press Command+d, and you're "back" to where you "were". :)

Squeak 4.5 Windows right-click debacle

Hi guys, did anyone happen to notice that RIGHT-CLICK DOESN'T WORK in Windows on our Squeak-4.5 release download? http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:xIgjzkwaWr4J:stackover… Verified. HTF did this get past our testing? Was it related to a last-minute inclusion of the CogVM? Whatever -- need to put out an update. Some acquaintences of mine wanting to learn Squeak, following Lawson English instructional videos except they couldn't get the right-click menu, they sent me the link above indicating others having the same issue. Not a good first impression! 1) What is the proper fix? It seems the 3ButtonMouse=0 in the "squeak.ini" file, it should be 1 right? Changing it seems to clear up the issue in Windows, but so does "swapMouseButtons" in the image, but flipping that would foul it up for Linux so I'm thinking the .ini file. 2) Did we do something related to "signing" for Mac and so I suppose flipping that will require the new All-In-One to be resigned to work on Mac (?). I know nothing about Mac, please advise. 3) If we have to resign anyway, 4.5 has had a few updates taking it to 13687 instead of 13680 (current 4.5 download). So if we have to resign anyway, should we go ahead and deliver this latest image too? 4) If we delivering a new image, maybe we should call it 4.5.1? As release manager, I'm embarassed, and inclined to make this right. Please help me think this through and with the Mac stuff..
