Hi all-- In two weeks... Squeak turns 25 on Friday, 24 September 2021. Let’s celebrate! We'll begin with an informal online gathering, at [1]. It will start at 11am pacific time (18.00 UTC), and last all weekend, so that folks from all timezones may attend. The Parse of the PostgresV3Help output used as input seems to have parsed.. here are the subtopics of the root HelpTopic an OrderedCollection(a HelpTopic<Overview> a HelpTopic<PostgresV3-Core> a HelpTopic<PostgresV3-Pool (depends on Core)> a HelpTopic<PostgresV3-CodeMirror (depends on Core and Pool)> a HelpTopic<PostgresV3-Objects (Deprecated)> a HelpTopic<Standard Usage Pattern> a HelpTopic<API Reference> a HelpTopic<Examples> a HelpTopic<Bibliography>) and the root: a HelpTopic<PostgresV3> and the "Overview" content looks good. ' We''ve uploaded the latest version to the squeaksource repository in two forms: as a single package, and as multiple separate packages. The multi-package version consists of the following: PostgresV3-Core: This is basically the implementation of the protocol. It enables one to create connections and execute text queries. PostgresV3-Pool (depends on Core): This is an implementation of a connection pool. We always use it when we''re connecting to a database. It also gives support for easy transaction handling. PostgresV3-CodeMirror (depends on Core and Pool): This is a set of high level tools which we use most of the time. It allows one to map Postgresql functions to Smalltalk methods. I doubt it though, as I hijacked the HelpTopic class during the parse. For example, I put the page selector inside brackets on the title and stash it in the 'key' subtopics are the both methods I have to create or subclasses I have to create. So I doubt it will work. But,....progress! btw, the impetus for this that I have to learn that big ole XML package next and I will have to keep notes and I want a mechanism where my Org notes translate seamlessly <ahem> (a HelpTopic<~<>@%|&?>))!) </ahem> into image CustomHelp. cheers!

I am putting together a "simple" PEG Grammar to parse Org mode into CustomHelp topics.... All test pass on the initial coding so I decided to put the first parts of the Terse Guide into the input stream. Last things first, here is the collection of HelpTopics created by the parse. an OrderedCollection(an OrderedCollection(a HelpTopic<Terse Guide> a HelpTopic<~<>@%|&?>)) HEE! Here is where it blows up.... Allowable characters: - a-z - A-Z - 0-9 - .+/\*~<>@%|&? <--- I got your parsing regex right here! - blank, tab, cr, ff, lf I am pretty sure that ORG has the equivalent of the <pre> </pre> markup, so I will do that in a bit. Here is the input: '* Terse Guide ** General Allowable characters: - a-z - A-Z - 0-9 - .+/\*~<>@%|&? - blank, tab, cr, ff, lf Variables: - Variables must be declared before use - Shared vars must begin with uppercase - Local vars must begin with lowercase - Reserved names: self, super, thisContext, true, false, and nil Variable scope: - Global: defined in current environment (that is usually Smalltalk) and accessible by all objects in system - Special (reserved): self, super, thisContext, true, false, and nil - Method Temporary: local to a method - Block Temporary: local to a block - Pool: variables in a Dictionary object - Method Parameters: automatic local vars created as a result of message call with params - Block Parameters: automatic local vars created as a result of value: message call - Class: shared with all instances of one class & its subclasses - Class Instance: unique to each instance of a class - Instance Variables: unique to each instance "Comments are enclosed in quotes - like this" Period (.) is the statement separator ** Transcript Transcript clear.
