Hi all,
this feels like a FAQ, but I could not find an answer to it in the image or in the list: In terms of semantics and best practices, when should you use FileStream vs StandardFileStream? Apparently, FileStream redirects to MultiByteFileStream whereas StandardFileStream processes each byte independently, so only the first one seems to be able to handle UTF8 encoding. I wonder which of them we should normally use in Squeak. Currently usage seems to be inconsistent - for instance, ZipArchive or Squeak-FileSystem use StandardFileStream while ChangeList and FileDirectory use FileStream.
Thanks in advance!
Best,
Christoph
