Hi Tim,
I built my own; I can email it to you if you don't mind an 860k attachment.

So can anyone explain to me where I can get a linuxPPC jitter vm(etc) ?
I have one dating from last October os so, as extracted from j3-2.6.0-powerpc-linux-gnu.tar.bz2 but that only runs the included j3.image (which is only update 155x level).
I just tried to fetch new stuff from http://www-sor.inria.fr/~piumarta/squeak/Jitter-3.1/ and can't get it to work. Firstly, dear old mozilla wouldn't download the file properly so I had to fetch it with my acorn and then copy it to the linuxPPC. After finally extracting the file from j3.11c.gz and setting the executable bit (which makes me wonder if something went wrong in the transfer) I can't run the vm because of "error in loading shared libraries: libiberty.so: cannot open shared object file".
Is there a more recent, or more complete package I can fetch? It's a bit hard to find out if my unwind code has any problems with something that I can't run...
Should the latest 'plain' 2.9 image (I have 3193 to test) run on some version of the j3 vm?

Thanks for the offer; but not yet! I'm currently up in the mountains on a slow modem line, but once I get back to the valley and my cable modem that would be great. Mmm, tuesday is a good bet. Is there a website you could drop it on? That always seems much easier to me.
Alternativley, you might like to try the exceptions package yourself; download http://sumeru.stanford.EDU/tim/pooters/SqFiles/deltas/tpr-Exceptions-6.cs and give it a try. The evidence so far is that it should cause no problem, but I'm assuming that some work will be needed for jitter to actually _support_ the unwinder. I'll tackle that next week maybe.

I've tried the latest (3193) image on a jitter3.11d VM on MacOS to see what happens with the exception unwinding fixes.
So far, I can't actually make any useful tests because 'ExceptionTester new runAllTests' blows the system away. The stderr file produced complains about ::SqueakCompiler:PcMap.h: in 'unsigned int PcMap::n2vPC(unsigned int *) const' ::SqueakCompiler:PcMap.h:88: nPC=0x166AA68 not found in map'
If I load my code, it doesn't blow away, but it does get into an infinite loop in the signalFromHandlerAction test. Clearly something is not quite right in either case.
Can anyone run 'ExceptionTester new runAllTests' on any jitter vm and get the expected, or any, results?
