This looks like the standard VM code, not the BC VM code. Intepreter in BC has no activeContext variable and no internalCannotReturn: method. How did you even get this to run a BC image, it should have said incompatible version number.

I thought this would be helpful in tracking this down, because it points to the problem lying in those changes, not in the actual BC code.
