Why not release the files in compressed archives? Utilities that distinguish between text and binary will not be confused, the downloads will be smaller and faster, and if the user does happen to FTP the files as text, they will not decompress correctly and the problem will be caught before they ever get into Squeak. Posting the files in both .SIT and .TAR format will cover most people, and probably everyone.
