After beginning to review 3.8 I am starting to see a pattern:
The frequency of which Alan Grimes (myself) uses a given feature is __inversely__ proportional to the probability that it will be available in the next release...
In this case: WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SIDE FLAPS? I CAN'T EVEN OPEN A BLOODY WORKSPACE WITHOUT THEM!!! I only used them say half a dozen times each and every squeak session...

Try
world menu/flaps/destroy all shared flaps
followed by
world menu/flaps/install default shared flaps
There is also the alt-k shortcut for workspaces.

Pressing alt-k also pops up a font selection menu while editing text. Most of the time I find this confusing and not very helpful.

More to the point, there is no help screen (that I have yet found) that lists the hotkeys available in the current context...
