Hi,
Under ftp://ftp.ira.uka.de/pub/squeak/cdrom/
there is now Squeak 3.7 as a CD image.
The CD has
-> Squeak 3.7 dir from ftp -> latest SqueakLand installers -> Smaltalk Books from ESUG CD -> Croquet installers -> SqueakMap Mirror.
There's no space for the rest that used to be on the CD (Mailinglist archive, swiki archive...), but these will be on a Squeak DVD (later this month, I guess).
This CD will be available via swiftCD after a week or two of beta.
I would be nice if some windows user could run a virus-checker over the contents of the CD.

how about doing online distribution via jigdo (http://atterer.net/jigdo/)? that way data can be reused that separately available already, which might especially be useful for the dvd.

I wanted to add a BitTorrent dowload later. And the ftp will stay, too. No problem with bandwith at ira.uka.de.
As for the DVD, the plan was to not make it available for download, as I don't think is is practical to download (or host) a file that large.
But jigdo seems to be an option that would make it possible, I guess. With splitting over multiple servers.... on the other hand, it does not provide any BittTorrent-like P2P traffic optimizations.

once you do it for the dvd, supporting the cd is easy (as I guess the dvd will be a super set) - I'll take a look at jigdo-ing the cd as a first step

only mirrors - and they only need to provide http or ftp, which is more easily done (esp. at existing mirror sites such as ibiblio) than bittorrent

I downloaded the file and made a .torrent (attached to this message). I have a machine with a very good bandwidth serving this torrent right now.

I'm certainly not a windows user, but running clamav through the CD on FreeBSD declared it clean:
Known viruses: 26254 Scanned directories: 56 Scanned files: 369 Infected files: 0 Data scanned: 768.55 MB I/O buffer size: 131072 bytes Time: 448.905 sec (7 m 28 s)
