Hi folks!
Stephane Ducasse has expressed a desire to step down as team leader for the website Team, but he will still be active in the Team. As the assigned coordinator of that Team I now would like to find someone else willing to step up to the plate and take over.
AFAIK the Team has a good base site in place running in Smallwiki and what is left is mainly to produce content and "get it out". I intend to be active in this part too - I have texts I have been working on that I want to contribute and we also now have the 3.8 released so the timing is good to get the website up and running.
Of course, the current members of the website Team (the doers) have a... "priority" if any of you would like to take the leadership. But I am posting to squeak-dev too. In my opinion the most important thing is that the new leader have some near term time to spend so that we get this UP.
regards, Göran
PS. Report 3 is brewing, coming later today I think so that we all know where we are and where we aren't. ;)

Goran, can you outline for us what this position entails or is that too cumbersome? I would like to be able to offer my services to the community, but I don't want to sign up for something when I don't entirely know what will be expected of me.
Stephane, perhaps you could say something to this as well.
Hi
Basically a lot have been done. So improving the web site - adding screenshots (as I did in the gallery of smallwiki.unibe.ch/botsinc/) - may be having a kind of new feed - may be translating a bit the site but besides that there is not too much. - the key point would be to get all the passwords for the accounts created on smallwiki and the machine. :)

Can do... Do they need to be on all the major platforms? If so, I will need help compiling them. Also, are there particular areas of Squeak that should be emphasized? Should we set up categories (Squeak & Multimedia, Squeak & the Web, Squeak & <name your favorite category>)
- may be having a kind of new feed
I am not sure what you mean by this. An RSS feed of latest developments, of milestones and releases, of enhancements?
- may be translating a bit the site
Since it's running in Smallwiki2 is there a way to hook into String>#translated such that the user could click a button (country's flag) and cause the session to change its notion of Locale?

Again, I am not sure what you mean here. Do you mean the team needs to implement the ability to add users to Smallwiki2? (I guess I am displaying my lack of Smallwiki knowledge here...)
One more question (not that it matters much) -- who else is on the team?

No I think screenshots can be done on any platform.

Yes for example. SmallWiki offer rss feed for pages.
- may be translating a bit the site

no SW1

No I mean that the team leader should ask goran, alexander and other all the information to log on SW and on the machine.
One more question (not that it matters much) -- who else is on the team?
You mean people listening on the list?

Hi Jason and all!
Sorry for the delay, hectic days here.

Nope, not cumbersome at all. :) The position as Team leader is to make sure things get done! :) It doesn't mean you need or even should do it all yourself - the job is to make sure the Team is productive and to report back to me (being the coordinator assigned to that Team).
The Teams we have and the team model describing how we work:
http://anakin.bluefish.se/castaways/6
There are currently 9 members on the website team mailinglist (hmmm, I am not there... ok added - make that 10), but say half have been active I guess.
community, but I don't want to sign up for something when I don't entirely know what will be expected of me.
I expect you to just lead the team. :)
There is already a nice look in place (even though it seems barfed right now) and SmallWiki works (modulo some issues). So basically it is about rounding up content and getting the website to "match" (as in not miss something important) the current squeak.org site so that we can later replace the former.
But again, this doesn't mean that *you* should do the work. The team should. :) And I intend to try to chip in a bit, at least with some texts and "points of view".
regards, Göran
PS. Can SmallWiki "render" the site like Swiki can? Might be a nice route.
