[Squeak 2.6 / Win98]
Not important to me, just thought I would let you know ...

squeakers,
The Dan Ingall's key note squeak demo astounded and amazed the audience. It would be great to show this key note to folks who could not attend OOPSLA.
I would love to schedule a showing at the Cincinnati Smalltalk Users group.
The trouble is that no one seems to know if it will ever be available to the public.
Immediately after OOPSLA"99 I contacted www.uvc.com about getting the video of Dan Ingall's key note speech.
Once a month I send a follow up email. The last response I got is attached below. Basically, it seems that no one knows if/when the video will become available.
Is there another route I could take to get a copy of this video, so that I can spread the word about squeak? I'd also enjoy watching it again myself.

Mark, Thank you for your message. I am sorry to report that there is no news. If we are not able to offer the OOPSLA '99 videos, maybe ACM will. We are continuing our follow-up.
Happy holidays to you. Karen Mathews

I have also tried to find out about the availability of this video. I got a similar non-answer:

Hello,
At this point we are still waiting for ACM to decide if they will make the conference videos available. The information should appear on the OOPSLA website when it becomes available. Unfortunately I don't have any more information at this time.
Thank you
John Jorgenson OOPSLA Operations
I have also tried to order some older OOPSLA video tapes from UVC: the don't reply to orders placed on their (unsecured) web site, or to phone messages, or to email.
