Dear list,
I've been trying to get Monticello Configurations to work, ideally in a 3.9 based image. I would be very interested to hear from anyone using it successfully in a 3.9 or 3.10 image.
I take these steps:
- Start with a new Squeak3.9.1-final-7075 image. - Open up a Monticello Configurations from the menu - Add Balloon-ar.13 - Add repository http://source.squeakfoundation.org/Balloon from the list
I can now hit update (from repositories), and get Balloon-ar.14. Cool, as expected.
- I click Store, and save it as test.mcm in my local package-cache repository. - I now close everything and open a Monticello Browser again. - I open my package-cache repository - Select "test" project - Select test.mcm on the right pane and I get a walkback:
"My subclass should have overridden #loadVersionInfo"
Hi Diane,
There are a few different fixes out there, if you check this list I believe Philippe once posted a list of all the different fixes.
Here is mine: http://bugs.squeak.org/view.php?id=5217
In my opinion Monticello Configurations are essential, although I have experienced some trouble with competing versions in different repositories.
Good luck,
Ron Teitelbaum

Yes.
do the configurations manage different servers on a per package level?
Not currently. If you give more than one repository, the package is searched in all.

Not sure you want this. If it has the same UUID it must be the same package. Works fine for Maven.
Cheers Philippe
I want to load magritte from lulkas repors moose from squeaksource ob from wiresong
in one click.

This will work fine with a manually saved mcm. MCM also has a feature to look for the "latest" versions of packages, which works still fine if you employ sane naming practices.
But since MC does not enforce a particular file naming scheme this might fail if different repositories use conflicting version numbers for the same package.
