Hi all -
I apologize if this isn’t the right forum for this but I’ve been lurking here for a few months trying to find time to learn Squeak/Smalltalk and I was wondering where to send bug reports? I was just trying to browse the Inbox for this mailing list and when I tried to download the list to Squeak I received a ByteArray error with a subscript is out of bounds error. I was able to download the beginners list though so my guess is there’s a specific message that’s got something wonky in it but I’m not familiar enough with Smalltalk to be able to debug this properly.
Is there a GitHub Issue or other place to submit a bug report?
Thanks and again apologies if this isn’t the right place to post this.
Mike
Hi Michael,
thank you a lot for this bug report, and yes, this was probably the right place for it! :-)
Yes, your assumption was completely correct, the HyperKitty server is currently delivering faulty mail archives (i.e., corrupt zip files) for one particular message. The administrators are informed, but to fix Squeak Inbox Talk in the meantime, I have just uploaded a workaround [1] that will temporarily skip the particular message during the download.
To apply the patch, could you please use the Settings button in the top right corner of Squeak Inbox Talk and perform a self-update? You should close the debugger from your screenshot before. After performing the update, Refresh should work again.
Hope that helps, and happy Squeaking!
Best, Christoph
