Hi,
after having read the FAQ (http://code.google.com/support/bin/topic.py?topic=10442), I'm still not sure how students are choosen and how many projects are affected to squeak. Here is what I think:
- the mentoring organization gives a mark to each student proposal - google review the marks and give a still undefined number of projects to squeak associated to one student.
Am I right ? Can somebody explain us?
I would really like to know too.

A student may apply for up to 20 projects overall, but will end up doing only one of those.
When the student submissions will be closed, Google will tell us how many students have been accepted for Squeak. Then each of our mentors will have to evaluate the student proposals and give each one a score. The final rank of the students will be determined from those scores.

ok

So Google is the first organization to choose. They read all students proposals and choose the students. The Squeak foundation has nothing to say on this list. Right ?

Only for selected students, right ?
The final rank of the students will be determined from those scores.
What is this rank ? How it is used for ?

No, Google will tell us how many students it will accept for working on Squeak projects. The mentors will then have to decide who those students will be, by ranking them. The ranking is done by giving each proposal a score.
Example: We ask for 20 students, Google tells us we can have five. We rank the proposals. The first five students will get the job.

I guess the number of students, Google give us depends on the number of proposals. How many students they fund ?

Google will fund 800 students. I've asked for 20 students to be assigned to Squeak projects. I expect the actual number to be lower, anyway.

This is crystal clear. Thanks
