[newbie] Reading files, printing

Again I must appeal to you. I'm having trouble figuring out 2 things this time. One is how to read an ascii file, line by line, so I can parse each line. I also need a way for the user to select the file he needs. The other thing, is once I have a Morph, is there a way to send it to the printer? I looked for tutorials on the web, but couldn't find anything relevant. A link to a tutorial I guess would be best, but if you can point me in the right direction, or give me a few lines of code would also be nice. I wanted to thank you for your responses to my last question, they pointed me in the right direction so i could take it from there. Now I think I know how to do all the drawing I need to do. Yeah, I played with it as soon as I updated to it. Same thing - got a lot of people wondering if I'd lost my mind (again) due to the funny (-ier than normal) noises. You're right, it's pretty impressive considering the nature of the environment. However, after playing with it for about five minutes, switching various options, the whole Squeak environment slowly ground to a halt, kinda like continuous garbage collection. Hi, You need to update your image. However, I would probably implement it so that each successive character typed would add to a current "search string", kind of like a ctrl-s search in Emacs, if you're familiar with that. For example, typing the letters "html-t" in the class category list would take you directly to the category "HTML-Tokenizer". The first "h" you typed would take you to the first match ("HTML-Formatter"), typing the subsequent "tml-" would stay in the same place since it still matched, then the last "t" would skip to "HTML-Tokenizer". (The class category list isn't a great example for this since groups of categories have similar prefixes.) I think this scheme is better from a UI point of view, but it does have one problem that yours doesn't... how does one determine when the user has finished entering a string, and wants to search for a different item? This could be done with a time limit, or when focus has left the pane, or when a <return> character has been typed, or...? I increased the values in #tinyBenchmarks to get stable realistic answers. In update 1437 to 2.5 Andreas Raab changed #tinyBenchmark so it automatically compensates by increasing the values enough to make the benchmarks run for at least 1 second each on any machine. [ENH]Specifications for Named Primitives

The recent updates included a new Slang translator that may greatly ease the process of creating named primitives by permitting certain linkage, validation and coercion code to be automatically generated from a concise "type specification" of the primitive method. As I have been asked to some documentation out for this as soon as possible beyond the examples included in the updates, I put the following rough cut up on the Swiki.
