[BUG][3.4b-5156] Cannot load project correctly that has JPEG SketchMorph

hi all 3.4b-5156 can't load a project correctly that has JPEG SketchMorph. 1) create a new project and enter. 2) drop the jpeg file on the world. (*1; published.jpg) 3) publish it. 4) load that project. (*2; afterLoading.jpg) It is never occurred at Squeak3.4b-5138, Squeak3.2-4956, Squeak3.2-4917 images. *** Squeak3.4b-5156 image only *** It seems to be exchanged a form stub and the right bits. Slashdot is reporting that the Gnome people have talked Bitstream into licensing a total of ten high-quality fonts for use in free software. [WinCE] Release candidate VM for PocketPC (iPAQ)

Hello, I finally have got enough traction:-) to revise the VM for PocketPC. The most notable feature of the new VM is that the ability to set the heap size and the external backing store memory size upon startup. While the VM works fine for me on iPAQ 3955 (PocketPC 2002), I can't test the VM on the other flavor of iPAQs. If you have some other iPAQ, please test the VM on yours and let me know how it goes. Also, if you have suggestions on the memory setting screen layout and the english, please let me know. The "release candidate" VM is at: http://www.is.titech.ac.jp/~ohshima/tmp/SqueakWithMemorySlider.zip I found the display update gets slower on 3955 than 36xx. This may be because the LCD is different, but may be my note is wrong. So, please test the following tests and let me know the number. [Bug] [Jacaranda] Problems with self-transitions

There's a problem when you try to connect a connector to the same item it originates from in a Jacaranda Diagram. This is the sort of thing you might do in a state diagram to indicate a self-transition. The connector ends up pointing more or less at infinity in some seemingly random direction. Oddly if I just grab the item (say a state) out of the Jacaranda diagram and drop it in the world I can create a self-transition just fine. Drag the state back in, edit the self-transition connector a little bit and it's OK. Ken

NetNameResolver timeout

Hi! I just wanted to load the PackageLoader. The somehow, the name couldn't be resolved (I think that's my fault). But: NetNameResolver class>>addressForName:timeout: should timeout after five seconds (the given time out from the SqueakMap load script), but I think it doesn't care for this timeout; it seems that NetNameResolver waiting for the name of 'map1.squeakfoundation.org' after a longer period of time (on Windows). Could anyone reproduce this behavior, or do I understand the meaning of "timeout" wrong? NetNameResolver addressForName: 'asd.afdsahw.de' timeout: 5 does not raise an error or return after five seconds here. Regards, Markus -- http://reauktion.de/archer/

Croquet UI input handling

Hi Croqueteers, I'm creating a simple interface to Croquet to allow setting of keyframes, sketching, etc., and I need to create my own UI behaviors. As it now stands, the tool support is insufficient (I did read the TPointer class comment, and realize that tool support isn't done). It appears that the tool only operates when there is an object selected. I envision a pen-based system that uses Genie to interpret any stroke made with the pen, even if there is no selected object. I would also like to be able to assign different behaviors to the yellow and red buttons. The approach that I have come up with is to have a hierarchy beneath TPointer, where each class defines a different type of UI behavior. There would be a TStandardPointer that supports the current behavior. Some of the protocol of TCamera (such as snapBack) would be moved into TPointer or TStandardPointer. I also want to add a history to support undo/redo. I haven't decided whether this belongs in the camera, the pointer, or somewhere more global. I'll probably opt for the pointer, and move it later if necessary. I'm writing this so as not to re-invent the wheel in case this area is actively being worked on. If not, I hope that I can do some work that furthers my research and is useful for Croquet. I'm also hoping to generate a bit of discussion, since I'm not sure I have a solid grasp on the design space, and know that there are others out there. If anyone is interested, I'll write something a bit more detailed than this email. Thanks, Joshua
