Thank you Marcus, for your good work. I agree, the community doesn't see this one as a bug. DependentsArray size and subscript is out of bounds

Hi, It is normal that: (DependentsArray new: 100) size return 0? If yes so why? And if I do: | o | o := WriteStream on: (DependentsArray new: 100). 1 to: 24 do: [:each | o nextPut: Object new]. "do it sevral time" it raise an error 'subscript is out of bounds: 22' from time to time why? Thx Math

FFI and apicall/cdecl type

Hi, I was wondering how the type was handle when apicall or cdecl occur. Thank you two, thank you Bert! Your piece of Code looks wonderful, everyone would believe it works, unless he tested. I have no idea why it doesn't work, but it's funny, because it leaves the Browser behind broken (trying to view the method in the method browser brings up the debugger). Isn't that cool? I agree, C-Style was not pejorative here. It is just a style consisting in checking returned value of functions (messages). Very simple in this case, and i'am OK with that. You answer the question which type has this name (nil means none), and testing isNil, you answer the question does such a type exist. This is something equivalent to Dictionary access like: ExternalType at: name ifAbsent: [nil]. And yes, nil is much cleaner than C implicit encoding (0, -1, 1 all can mean true, false, nil, failure, depending on the function). Saving morphs to file

[SqNOS] Release 16-Jul-2006: Basic networking is working!

hi! we just released a new .iso image. We should have released it a few weeks ago, as there are some bug fixes and additions in the native part (for example, FFI is included now), but we delayed it a little bit to be able to release an image that can be pinged over the net :-) download form: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=3891&package_id=3865 The first Networking driver we have is LanceNICDevice, with support for AMD 79C790 cards, as emulated by vmware, what means that the .iso image can be booted in a vmware and pinged :-) We included networking support as implemented mainly by Luciano a while ago, all his work is now available as a Monticello package from http://www.squeaksource.com/Net.html. Although we have only included the Packet and a quick hack to respond to ARP requests and ICMP echo requests, support for most of the protocol in the TCP/IP suit is ready and only has to be plugged into SqueakNOS. We are working on improving the support for this network card, adding new cards (probably RTL8139 is going to be the next), and adding and improving all TCP/IP support. As usual, in this .iso you'll find everything needed to boot and test the system (either directly from the CD in a real box or with vmware), and to rebuild everything. enjoy as much as possible, if you have any questions, as usual, don't hesitate to ask. gera
