When you start Squeak as a service you cannot interact with it directly. Services are started whether a user is logged on or not, so there's just no window you can see. I'm not sure what you want to do - if you really want to interact with Squeak then it might be better to put it into the Autostart (which gets run when a user is logging on so there's a way of interacting then). BTW, if you could explain a bit more about what you're trying to do I might be able to give a couple of hints on how to achieve this. Hi, Does anybody have any list of PUBLISHED (on paper/CDM/other mediums). I know Mark has one (or two?). But I've heard several other people claiming to be writing books which never came out! So I have lost track of what is available and what is vapourware! I appreciate any list. Regards. Do you have administrator priviledges on the machine you're running this on?! Installing a service on NT requires admin rights. [Annoyance] Script editors accept drop on playfields

After working some time with scripting this stands out as a mayor annoyance. Usually I have a big playfield on the desktop and then I start to bring up all sorts of scripts and browsers etc. After a few minutes the desktop is cramped a I have to put a script over the playfield. When I do that the script editor gets D&D on the playfield and usually gets cropped of so it's impossible to read/edit. Script editors could follow the same rules as system windows and have embedding turned off by default. Karl

It just occurred to me that I'm not certain who exactly is Squeak Central (SqC). Is the info on the Swiki still valid? That does the trick. The Control Panel settings take a bit of getting use to, but everything one needs is there. Mouse works fine now. USB Overdrive keeps is setting on an application basis.
