What is this error?

I keep getting a walkback after saving and quitting. Here is the log file. I'm running 3.2 #4904 on a Windows 3.2.2 May 26 2002 release. 3.2, Help wanted. Now we're getting somewhere.

>What kind of Morphs do you want to document? All of them? Tools=20 >(browsers, debuggers, etc)? Widgets (Pluggable*Morph, TextMorph,=20 >etc.)? Basic (RectangleMorph, PolygonMorph)? It depends how responsive the authors/experts are. Having the entire Morph Catalog (if not more) documented should be the goal before we iterate to 3.4 (to set an arbitrary deadline). It would be nice to have the majority of Tools, Scripting, Collaborative, Presentation, Multimedia, Navigation, and the less obvious morphs in Graphics and Text ready to publish some time before the US Thanksgiving holiday (the 21st or 28th of November...after that much of the world goes into holiday mode); again it depends on community response. The sooner people write the first drafts, the sooner I can begin testing and editing. I do have to warn everyone that I am going off the grid for the month of August. Ultimately, the goal is document everything no matter how mundane or how official/unofficial. Best--John

Black Screen

Hi all, What does it mean when my image starts up with a black screen and nothing happens (I think I had Seaside and Comanche running last time I saved and quit Squeak) If my image is shot, I need to learn about the changes file, right? Unix B3D Acceleration

Hi, I have been unable to build a VM with working B3D acceleration from either SourceForge or Ian's sources. With the SF sources, I wasn't able to build a VM at all. There were a ton of warnings about control reaching the end of a non-void function. I tried both using his tree as-is, and with a src/ directory generated by VMMaker. With VMMaker, I tried to build B3DAcceleratorPlugin as both an internal and an external plugin. In all 3 cases, the result was a working VM without B3D hardware acceleration. The problem is the failure of the line p= interpreterProxy->ioLoadFunctionFrom("stDisplay", NULL); in sqUnixOpenGL.c One confusing thing is that stDisplay doesn't seem to be a function. Is some initialization function supposed to stash stDisplay (the one from sqXWindow.c) in a primitive table so that the accelerator plugin can find it? If so, this isn't happening. Help! Joshua

URGENT WARNING -- Don't snapshot! (was: "What is this error?")

It appears that the latest official 3.3alpha and 3.2gamma images both have a significant, and perniciously dangerous, bug, which seemingly arrived in update 4897. Until this bug is fixed, it is *very dangerous* to be using any image that has update 4897 in it, because each time you try to snapshot such an image ("save", "save and quit", etc.) you stand a good chance of losing the image. Thus, ironically, the only way to assure that you won't lose such an image is never to save it. Which however makes development work problematical. Anyone who has not recently updated 3.3alpha past 4889 or updated 3.2gamma2 past 4889 or started using 3.2gamma3 is advised to hold off on doing so. Up-to-date 3.3a and 3.2gammaX images will all be in a very dangerous state in which to save them is potentially to lose them. Stay tuned... -- Scott PS: Reverting method ProcessorScheduler class.idleProcess *appears* to circumvent the problem.
