Squeak won't always quit

Hi, I am running Squeak/Seaside headless on a Raspberry Pi Zero/W. Almost everything works great. I want to be able to exit Squeak with a return code that I test in a shell script. I was using this: Smalltalk snapshot: false andQuitWithExitCode: 1. to exit with a return code of 1. This works some of the time but not always. I can tell because the script logs the return code and when the exit doesn't work, there is nothing in the log. It is still in Squeak/Seaside somewhere. I took a look at #snapshot:andQuitWithExitCode: and #snapshot:andQuit:withExitCode:embedded: that it calls and found some code that I don't need, like code to save the image. I wrote: quickShutdown: exitCode "Shutdown without saving anything and exit with the exit code." Object flushDependents. Object flushEvents. Smalltalk processShutDownList: true. self quitPrimitive: exitCode. to simplify things but the problem persists. That's not really a surprise as it should be all that was getting done before. how can I test host environment: Pharo or Squeak

Squeak graphics colloquium

The board has been chewing over the sensible options for future graphics in Squeak and would like to engage the general community. We’ve had a lot of exciting projects over the years and failed to make much good use of them for whatever reason. What should we do to improve things - OpenGL? Nile? Skia? WishFulfillmentGraphics 3.0 ? Hello after loading a Etoys project into a most recent trunk image incrementing a tile value actually generates an updated script which is to be compiled. Recompiling the script causes an error in ScriptEncoder>>associationForClass | assoc | assoc := self environment associationAt: cue getClass name ifAbsent: [nil]. ^assoc value == cue getClass ifTrue: [assoc] ifFalse: [Association new value: cue getClass] Replacing assoc := self environment associationAt: cue getClass name ifAbsent: [nil]. with assoc := self environment globals associationAt: cue getClass name ifAbsent: [nil]. Made the script to work but errors later on came up at the same place for other reasons. In particular it was not possible to commit the changed 'Compiler' package to the inbox. Do you have any suggestions how to deal with this problem? I think Module imports and parent, vat pending continuations and vatSemaphores and scope-encrypted wiring and running priority stacks and the tuners agents, the transceivers, all are managed through an eTupleSpace as the roots of storage with ephemeral registration in module definitions. Chain a break reactor to uncouple. I am not sure how this rests in design, a start to integrate with tracing added. Welcoming comments. These thoughts to prep for ASN1 to substitute through the scope, or through eLinda. - Alan

Hello How do I generate CustomHelp method stubs? The HelpBrowser you get when you choose menu 'Help' / 'HelpBrowser' [1] automatically includes all help specified as subclasses of CustomHelp [2].
