Hi!
I'm an old time smalltalk developer that is back fold using smalltalk again after using VB for a longer time than I like to remember.
(Well Visual Basic paid the bills...)
At Bluegarden we need an tracking tool and I think Gjallar would fit the task(issue, case ;-)
But how du I start using Gjallar?
1.
When I start with "Q2Model recreateDatabase" and "Q2Gjallar startServer"
I can start Gjallar with http://localhost:8081/seaside/Gjallar
But I can't log in. I don't know any legal username/password and if I try some name I just get:
"Error: Could not resolve the server named: activedirectory.yourowndomain.org" from "a LDAPWorker"-
(Pressing "System Information" gives me system information in the browser and so on for other functions. I.e I have contact from the browser.)
2.
But I have problem starting Gjallar with the "Create/recreate the db with sample data loaded".
I.e. "do it" on "Q2Model recreateDatabase"
I just get an "self halt" in "Q2CreatedCaseEvent class(Q2CaseEvent class)>>for
Here: aCase ifNil: [self halt].
I user Squeak3.8-6665-gjallar.image on Squeak.exe from 24.9.2004 on Windows XP pro, service Pack 2.
I tried upgrading to Q2v0.2-gk.181.mcz from the Repository: http://gjallar.krampe.se http://gjallar.krampe.se/
Result: Same problem.
I tried Squeak 3.9-RC1-7061 and loading from Gjallar.st, but got some other into problem there.

Try using root/goldfish.

I received the same error trying to load the sample data, so I have been working with it without the sample data until the 0.3 version comes out.

Hi
But I cant log in. I dont know any legal username/password
look at swiki.krampe.se/gjallar then Document / User Guide that page is useful (swiki.krampe.se/gjallar/12) then drill down into "default object" for passwords (swiki.krampe.se/gjallar/20)

Such is life!
At Bluegarden we need an tracking tool and I think Gjallar would fit the = task(issue, case ;-)

First of all - Gjallar is at (thought I was getting it out today, we will see - night is young) version 0.3. So I would not call it perfectly usable yet. There is at least one thing clearly missing - My View. And the filters are also not there in the intended form - just two crappy ones that can't be modified.
But it is definitely playable. And really soon I intend to fix the above things, because we aim at deploying within the next three weeks.
When I start with "Q2Model recreateDatabase" and "Q2Gjallar startServer" =
I can start Gjallar with http://localhost:8081/seaside/Gjallar

"Error: Could not resolve the server named: = activedirectory.yourowndomain.org" from "a LDAPWorker"-
This is because by default (we should change that, already noted) it tries to lookup users using LDAP.
The users available in the test system (that recreateDatabase creates - but those methods will change for 0.3) are among a few:
root/goldfish
oden/oden mimer/mimer balder/balder tor/tor
(Pressing "System Information" gives me system information in the = browser and so on for other functions. I.e I have contact from the = browser.)
Good. :)

Ah, bug. Has been fixed, this was due to a bug in Magma IIRC. I think you can get it to disappear by upgrading Magma (MagmaServerLoader package - pick the newest from www.squeaksource.com/Magma).
I user Squeak3.8-6665-gjallar.image on Squeak.exe from 24.9.2004 on = Windows XP pro, service Pack 2.
I tried upgrading to Q2v0.2-gk.181.mcz from the Repository: = http://gjallar.krampe.se http://gjallar.krampe.se/=20
Result: Same problem.

I haven't looked into moving onto 3.9 yet - will probably have to wait a while.

My best advice is probably (apart from the above) to try out 0.3 that will be released today or tomorrow.
