[Etoys] Etoys image size

Hi, The etoys image size has grown to over 30MB now. How can I generate a report on the top memory hogs by categories or classes (and their instances, of course)? How do I make sure that memory hogs are indeed really needed in the base image and cannot be parceled into projects. TIA .. Subbu

Attending: Milan Zimmerman, Scott Wallace, Yoshiki Ohshima, Takashi Yamamiya, Ted Kaehler Today's talk was largely about our priorities for the summer release, given that we have four weeks left before Squeakfest Brasil. The focus on this release will be to address little stumbling blocks that trip up new users. We agreed that the summer release would include all of the approved changes since January, along with the following: * hideable toolbar for pre-XO content * "standard mode" by default (1200x900 coordinate space, scaled to 800x600 by default on desktops & browser) * better "introduction to etoys" stuff to intrigue people during the first run * sharing & loading projects to central server, similar to scratch Another point that was addressed last week is: * easy Etoys updates from the server, with periodic reminders We really need more developers to help us out, both now and in the future. Thoru Yamamoto created this tool: http://www.languagegame.org:8080/zoo/243 (look for ToyAnimGIF) This one and ToyPoser are very interesting for students, so we use modificated versions of it (ToyAnimGIF had a litle problem) at our classrooms. [Etoys] bulk project cleanups

Hi, I need to repair a few hundred Etoys (3.1) project files that have spurious changesets in them. How can I do this in Squeak unattended? i.e. without having to load and enter each project, run cleanups and then save them manually? for each project blah in a defaultDirectory. ProjectLoading loadFromDir: ....... In this project. run commands storeOnServerWithNoInteraction delete project. TIA .. Subbu

[Etoys] finalStripping hangs waitForCommand

Hi, On etoys4#2229+OSProcessV4-3-7, the waitForCommand: hangs after executing: ReleaseBuilderSqueakland new prepareReleaseImageForSqueakland. Doing: Cursor wait showWhile: [ OSProcess waitForCommand: 'sleep 2'] works fine just before this command but if run after this send, the method hangs waiting for runState to turn from #running to #complete even after the child process is done. I was able to narrow down the difference to ReleaseBuilderForSqueakland>>finalStripping ... >>discardFFI .. >>recreateSpecialObjectsArray Commands issued (in a separate workspace) just before this call work fine. The one issued after this call hangs. Has anyone else bumped into this problem? Any hints on tracing race conditions or side effects? Thanks in advance .. Subbu

Looks like a bug with the translation-system. As you can see on the screenshot attached (fire-StandardViewer.png) the name of the player 'fire' get's translated on programming tiles. This should not happen. The same problem appears in scripts where there seems to be a font-problem with translated strings as well (tree-oneStep-1.png). After switching to program-code and back to tile-representation the displaced translations disappear (tree-oneStep-2.png , look for 'tree' and 'fire').
