Thanks to Bert and Subbu :) I suspect the issue is much more deeper than just nib-size in PBM :-(. When a 1-pix lines are created on desktop and edited on XO, the resulting sketch may end up with both 1-pix and 3-pix lines creating confusion. In any case, I would prefer to use an XOMode preference which then influences the whole of Morphic and Etoys rather than deal with it on as piecemeal basis. Regards .. Subbu

Calendar fixes

Hi guys, Given the recent interest in the CalendarMorph, I've been working on it a little more (see the project attached). Now I find it much more responsive by just deferring the update of the GUI (which is expensive) in the #step method. I also fixed the issue with the translations not updating when changing languages. Now the month names and day initials should get updated but the problem is that we don't have translations for them yet in the database, so you won't notice this until we add them. Important for developers: I changed the way the locale changes are notified to morphs. See Project>>#updateLocaleDependentsWithPreviousSupplies:gently: and Morph>>#localeChanged. Basically, I just send #localeChanged to all morphs and I have the default implementation in Morph doing nothing. I think this is much better than before because now any morph can get notified of locale changes by just implementing the #localeChanged method, but I wanted to ask for your opinion on this. timeline for Etoys 4.1.3 (4.2?)

Hi, Is there a timeline plan for the next release of Etoys 4 for this summer? Will it be a bug fix release (4.1.2) or will include features too? I would like to get new features like Grab Flood tool, stencils and silhouettes (see SQ-971) into the next feature release. Regards .. Subbu

Hi all The attached change set let you get the fist brush in the paint tool with a width of 1 pixel. This occurs if you uncheck the preference eToyFriendly. Regards

Hi, You'r right,I have used original etoys 3 installed in my xo. Exactly etoys3.0 2153 Sorry I'm using most of the time etoys 4 launched from the terminal But when I have to attach a project, I use etoys 3 which stores project in the journal. The patch seems to be for Etoys 3. Proposed fixes should be for the current 4.x branch. In Etoys 4, brush sizes are hard-coded in PaintBoxMorph>>initializeBrush. Instead, they should be computed based on screen DPI so they will work for both XO and desktops. I will file a tracker issue to collect the fixes. Etoys will always have EtoysFriendly switched on to encourage young students and their teachers to explore freely without fear of accidental damage. Regards .. Subbu

Hi, The elimination of brush size 1 from the brush palette of PaintBoxMorph in Etoys 4 is causing trouble for art teachers (see below). The brush sizes of 1, 3, 5 etc. were changed to 3,5,.. in Etoys 4+ (see initializeBrush method). Was this done for OLPC Display? What are the downsides of reverting it to original sizes or tying it to display DPIs? Regards ..
