A long term project might be to create a 3D version of etoys that renders the regular World into a GL texture (as my demo does https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSLZKIXeXR4) and allows people to play with a carefully-selected-to-be-stable set of 3D options.
Lawson
Hi Lawson, Is this 3D idea building onto the ideas Diego Gomez Deck was working on in a version long ago . . .maybe 3.1? I remember being able to paint a fish that rendered into a 3D version, an object that could be scripted and that could be turned toward you, away from you or left and right and it was great fun. I don't know why it was not included in later versions. I am enjoying your videos very much, thanks! We welcome you to do test into this technology. We offer Etoys to be used as a tool for all sorts of creative endeavor. The earlier 3D systems of Etoys are no longer in the image though, It can be found on SqueakSourcem
