I disabled the possibility to change the type of variable if it is used in a script.
That seems drastic. A warning should be enough, no?
I have not looked at a way to list all scripts where a variable is used.

remove variable and modify type of variable should show list of scripts concerned
Key: SQ-1138 URL: http://tracker.squeakland.org/browse/SQ-1138 Project: squeakland Issue Type: Improvement Reporter: Markus Schlager
When trying to remove a user-defined variable which is in use in a scipt, one get's a warning that this variable is in use. The variable won't get removed then. The same should be the case when modifying the type of a variable, but it isn't. In both cases it would be helpful, if there was not only this warning message about the variable being in use in some script but also a list of these scripts in order to easily track down scripts where changes are necessary.
