Thank you very much.
BTW, do you use the same update list for both OLPC image and SqueakLand image?, and when do you make a next major build for Etoys 3.1? It means that we only have a chance to update the language file to include it in the major build at that time.
We've not tried Pango support yet. If you have some documentation on it, please let me know it.
P.S. From now, we (Korean Squeakers) will try to use the etoys mailing list for this kind of questions. :)

Hi janggoon and SeungBum,
Thank you for the Korean patch. I uploaded it into the update list as 2194koEnvironment.cs. To confirm, please:
- download http://etoys.laptop.org/src/etoys-dev.zip
- press "load code updates" (it downloads up to #2160)
- do it SystemVersion newVersion: 'etoys3.1'
- press "load code updates" again.
Your file will be included in next major build.

About font files, I think downloading from squeak.kr is O.K, although we might be able to provide a disk space on squeakland server. Another option is Pango with native fonts, have you tried Pango support anyway?
Cheers,
- Takashi

Hi all,
I'll add some information on this message. We need two things to have the Korean Etoys from SqueakLand.
- The current Etoys is needed to patch with the attached file that
janggoon sent. After patching with it, Korean users can use Korean directly with Etoys downloaded from SqueakLand website like Japanese users do. :)
Actually, we prepared the Korean environment patch for Squeak 3.10 on the SqueakMap, but we don't know how to add it in current Etoys.
We are serving the font file from the squeak.kr because of a network bandwidth and a file size. However if you have an another plan to serve additional resources such as a font file, please let us know it.
- We need a permission to upload .po file on Etoys Pootle system.
Please let janggoon know how to get it. He will upload a .po file soon, which is a newly translated language file from several export volunteers.
I always thank you for your and VPRI's supports.

Hi. My name is Jang, YunJae (nickname. janggoon) I'm a Korea squeaker and I like the squeak. :) Also, I work with SeungBum.
I had to change the KoreanEnvironment source code. I was tested on Windows XP, Vista and Mac OS X 10.4 Hangul input and output will be well.
I hope that KoreanEnvironment source code changes. (Etoys in SqueakLand.org) I hope that in Korea, these things happen. download the Etoys with Squeakland.org, and then choose language the korean, automatically, download the Korean font(in squeak.kr/data), finally, the Hangul can be used freely in Etoys.
The ChangeSet file as an attachment. I'm waiting for your answer.
Thank you.
I've tested Pango in Korean, It works. But Some korea fonts not loaded in Squeak (OLPC v2194 + FreeType-tween.435.mcz). Is it Korea fonts problems?
I attach Pango test screenshot.
Thanks for supporting Korea. :-)

Cool screenshots. But what happens if you don't load the FreeType package? The OLPC image doesn't need it. Supporting multiple fonts is not working well (reported here and elsewhere):

The plan is to release the OLPC image as necessary (like every month or more often), but Squeakland image is build about every 6 months. The latter will be derived from the former so upon releasing, the code should be more or less identical.
For Korean, I would encourage you to make a version by yourself, perhaps some fonts pre-loaded and saved in Korean.
