I've changed the ownership of all 3.8 and 3.9* ftp directories to the 'update' account so now you can simply modify them using the same account you use to add updates. Be sure to use the right patch of course. In this case '/var/www/files/3.8/'.

Sure announce also 3.9 and people can complain about it (this is free). I do not post in 3.9 because I'm fed up by the bad atmosphere it reigns there.
