Well, Cog was used in production at Teleplace for at least 2 years before we got the open-soruce version. I would install it in addition to our production VM. And then have something use it - maybe a "test" copy of the main site? Hmm, might have to wait until we have more disk space.

OK, I'm willing to look into building Cog then and see what happens. Unfortunately I ran into the svn temporary directory issue when I tried to check it out and I emailed vm-dev and the list.
I'll report back when I can try it.

Well, that didn't last long. It appears that the version of svn on the server is just too damn old and that to get anywhere I will have to build svn and upgrade it. That's really more than I'm up for just now.
Let's see if we really have an immediate need for a Cog VM and also if a new server is an option anytime in the nearish future.
