I downloaded (today)
http://etoys.laptop.org/src/etoys-image-and-pr.zip
for use with SqueakLand.app (for OS X)
etoys-dev.image and etoys.image
appear to be actually etoys-dev.image
Trying to open a SqueakMap Package Loader (in etoys-dev.image) hangs Squeak.
Have I missed a direction somewhere ...?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Oh, I must have uploaded the wrong file accidentally. Thanks for notifying us!

No, http://map.squeak.org/ is down.

Beside that, was #4799 resolved ? (Sorry I haven't checked by myself)

No, http://map.squeak.org/ is down.
Ok. Thanks. But besides this,
etoys-image.dev and etoys.image both appear to be the same, eg, there is no etoys.image at the moment (only etoys-dev.image).
In etoys-dev.image, when I press on the "build OLPC image," - to build etoys.image - the debugger comes up with information about a missing file:
http://etoys.laptop.org/svn/trunk/etoys/QuickGuides/preload-index.sexp.data....
When I download and add this to the QuickQuides directory (it doesn't appear to be there to start), additional error messages comes up.
It may well be that I'm in water thats over my head .... but if there's a fix someone can point me to, that would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Mark

I'm uploading the correct image ASAP, give me an hour or so.

The etoys-dev image is not even supposed to be in that zip file. The preload-index file is explicitly excluded, as are the po files etc. I corrected that now.

All clear, new etoys-image-and-pr.zip is up.

Thanks Bert,
I just downloaded and etoys.image appears to work perfectly.
The etoys-dev image is not even supposed to be in that zip file.
Ok, I guess this means
http://etoys.laptop.org/svn/trunk/etoys/
is the location of the most recent etoys-dev.image .... is this correct?
Thanks very much in advance,
Mark

Great - sorry for the inconvenience.

This is correct.
If there is interest I could have the script generate an etoys-dev zip file, too.

For me at least (and students with whom I work), a link to an etoys-dev zip would be very convenient.
... It looks at the moment, too, as if etoys-dev.changes isn't on the server.
Thanks in advance for all help ...

Here you are:
http://etoys.laptop.org/src/etoys-dev.zip
This should have everything needed to build an olpc release image, but excludes the actual guides and projects. Or should it include those, too?
Note that we usually do not update the dev image as often (ideally only once per major release). So be sure to load updates after downloading.

Actually it is (the file really is 0 bytes).

Thanks Bert.
etoys-dev.zip opened and worked perfectly. And thanks for explaining the mystery of the 0 bytes file.

It's easy enough to copy them from the etoys folder. On the other hand, maybe including them is one less set of instructions (for a new user/developer) on a web site or a README.
Two more questions (anomlies?): Clicking on the Help button (in etoys-dev.image) brings up" Error: not used anymore." .... Is that correct?
Clicking on the 'make olpc image' button proceeds along for a little bit but then stops with:
Player allInstancesDo: .... message missing (I think that's what I saw).
Thanks and hope this is helpful -
