[BUG] MailMessage cannot send to more than one email address

In the MailComposition (MailMessage) window which comes up when doing 'mail to list' from the changesorter, or 'mail out bug report' from the debugger, or 'email package maintainers' from SqueakMap, etc., it doesn't seem possible to send the email to more than one address. (Yes, this means that 'email package maintainers' in SM doesn't work after all if there is more than one maintainer :-( ... ) I'm not sure now if the problem is in MailMessage or in SMTPClient>>recipient:. (I guess the DecentReviewerNotePad in BFAV sends to multiple To: address somewhat successfully, but it uses multiple To: fields which has the side-effect of confusing some email clients, and is not RFC822 approved.) I tested this three different ways, by editing the contents of the To: portion of the MailComposition window, with the results below.... - Doug Test 1: ------------------------ "From: dway(a)mailcan.com To: dway(a)mailcan.com, dew_dropper(a)hotmail.com Subject: Regarding Whisker Browser testing" -> 553 5.1.3 <dway(a)mailcan.com, dew_dropper(a)hotmail.com>... [BFAV][BUG]? Sending mails using v170

I just tried closing down the BFAV thread mentioned below, and I got the following mail in response. I've only seen these since I added the X-Squeak-Version header change, and while I don't see why that should change anything, I wonder why I got this message. What does it mean "Message has implicit destination"? [BUG] no balloonHelpInMessageLists

I cannot get balloon help for messages in the Browser anymore. Setting the preference balloonHelpInMessageLists has no effect. I tried in a fresh 3.7a-5816 image as well as in an up-to-date 3.8alpha-5976 image. It still worked in 3.6.

How to use SmartRefStream

Hi: I've a model with only one instance in the image and I backup this model with: | rr | rr := SmartRefStream fileNamed: 'MyModel.obj'. rr nextPut: MyModel someInstance. rr close. But I can't figure out how to read again inside the image, I've tried, between several attempts,: | rr | rr := SmartRefStream fileNamed: 'MyModel.obj'. MyModel allInstances do: [:each1 | each1 := rr next]. rr close. I'm sure that I've only one instance in the model (worked with Seaside and Mewa) but I can't figure out how to recover the data in the file 'MyModel.obj' to rebuild my objects in the image. The previous MyModel allInstances do: [:each1 | each1 := rr next] fails with 'attempt to index non-existent element in an ordered collection'. I can't imagine how to replace the "data" of my live instance of MyModel with the data saved in the external file "MyModel.obj". Any help will be appreciated. gsa.

Games package now GPL?

Hi Folks, I just noticed that the last version of the Games packages (http://map1.squeakfoundation.org/sm/accountbyid/fc09dff0-87b1-47ec-ace7-fa4 172b5d6a0/files/Morphic-Games.5.sar) includes the Atomic game which is listed as being distributed under GPL (http://map1.squeakfoundation.org/sm/package/6b38ce2d-ccd2-4b44-b548-afd4030 5533e). As far as I am aware this is an incompatible mix and I'd like a clarification on the license status of Atomic. If it is being distributed under Squeak-L updating the the Atomic package is certainly a good idea and if the license has not changed I'd rather opt for removing it from the games package. I thought fixing condenseSources was a relatively critical fix, so I'm adding it as a final update for 3.7gamma. (Plus a comment-only change to TwoWayScrollPane indicating that it's obsolete.) Well, this fixes *a* problem with condenseSources, anyway... testing it just now with the gamma1 image, I'm seeing a different problem (nil isSeparator) which I don't think I was seeing with earlier images... sigh. Well, that will have to wait for 3.8, which will be a short release anyway. No other critical-sounding bugs have come up for 3.7gamma, so this should be it. Condense Changes for 3.7 Full?

Marcus & I were just discussing whether we should do a "Smalltalk condenseChanges" for the 3.7 Full release. Normally, we don't do it for point releases (3.4, 3.5, 3.6). You lose the intermediate method version information, except for the latest version, plus the first version in the .sources file. But it makes the .changes file a lot smaller (11MB instead of 20MB). For the reasons I state below, I think it might be reasonable to condenseChanges on the Full image to make it a more reasonable download size. But leave the Basic image alone. functionality of Socket>>socketError

I'm investigating if Socket>>socketError is usable for anything. Could someone try this on Linux or MacOS: s _ Socket new. s connectNonBlockingTo: #(127 0 0 1) asByteArray port: 12345. and then print s socketError on Windows (WinXP) I'm still getting zero. -- Kamil
