Thanks for the information Bert. In any case it looks as though I don't really have a choice in the matter. I'll stop the image, restart it under vnc, change the admin address, confirm that I am marked as a superuser, and then I think I will leave it under vnc for the moment since maybe we should consider updating the version of SqueakSource. I really don't know anything about doing that. So I would be appreciative of any comments that you or Doug have about whether that is worth doing and how we should go about it.
..../me starts doing above...
OK. I've restarted SqueakSource under vnc. Doug has the password. If you would like to take a look Bert, let me know and I can send it to you.
I modified SSRespository class>>adminEmail changing the returned result to the box-admins list and that seems to have done the job.
Currently we have a slightly modified version of SqueakSource-dew.152 installed. The nearest non-dew ancester is bf-150, so it looks like we are a little behind when that feature was added.

The repository settings were introduced in December 05, after merging SqueakSource-bf.154 and SqueakSource-pmm.141. Not sure where you started off.
As for storage, either you periodically save the image, or you serialize the meta data. In any case, killing it can lead to data loss. OTOH, the only recent activity I see was the one by edgar, so if this is lost, it could easily be redone.

Yes, the superuser flag was something that has to be set in the image. I'm still a superuser... at least it still allows me to add developers & admins to any project for example. I think the version of squeaksource running at source.squeakfoundation.org is fairly old, so that there is no "Edit Settings" that I can see.
For storage backend, it was just a directory of files, and I assume that's still the case? (Not sure if you've made any major changes to the squeaksource configuration, Ken...)

Eh, dunno. Doug set it up. I guess I will wait awhile to see if he responds before I do anything drastic.
Thanks,

P.S. The link does not show up for me on the Home page.

Well, the link only shows up on the Home page.
Regarding killing the image - what storage backend do you use?

I believe I set that flag for my self previously through Squeak. Maybe this feature doesn't exist in v1.1? Or maybe something happened to remove my superuser status. In any case I guess I'm back to restarting the image under vnc. Any comments on the safety of killing the image?

Will only show up for super users. I'm actually not sure if you can set the superuser flag through the web UI ...
