Hi all,
I have updated the website's repository at [1], so that the automated
builds on TravisCI update the files on alan now.
Tobias needs to update the DNS records accordingly next.
Best,
Fabio

Dear all
For easier management, I have now installed
apt-dater
on ian.
This eases the installation and maintenance of software updates on the hosts.
To use it for updates yourself (as, eg Levente or David have done in the past),
please add your user to the
adm
group on all affected machines:
for i in ian alan adele andreas dan ted david scott; do
ssh -t $i.box.squeak.org "sudo adduser $YOURNAME adm"
done
and then use
apt-dater
on ian.
The program needs a list of hosts to monitor.
Please put the following into the file
.config/apt-dater/hosts.conf
in you home directory on ian:
===============
[Squeak.org]
Hosts=ian.box.squeak.org;alan.box.squeak.org;adele.box.squeak.org;andreas.b…;
==============
Attached a screenshot of how this looks.
Hope this helps.
Best regards
-Tobias
Hi all
[this already happened yesterday, but...]
the files server has been moved.
The dns for
files.squeak.orgftp.squeak.org
now point to
alan
Despite the name, ftp is not enabled.
The ftp... name shall not be dropped, nevertheless, as certain external software, for example, the squeak package for openbsd, depend on it.
The files have been moved.
This was a huge chunk of data. Alan has now ca 6GB space left.
This is not a problem. the space is fit for some more time; we can also
add storage dynamically, if necessary.
Best regards
-Tobias

Hi all
Mantis has been moved.
The dns for
bugs.squeak.org
now points to
alan
The DB has been moved.
It now uses a 'cloud database' instance from rackspace.
The files are on scott, where I therefore installed php and nginx.

Dear all,
with Cees confirming the move of the last domain, the DNS-Move to Rackspace is complete.
The domains
- squeak.org
- squeaksource.com
- squeakfoundation.org
can now be managed using the Rackspace CloudDNS interface.
Note a: There's an ancillary domain, '.box.squeak.org' that is intended to answer the _internal_ ip's for our boxen (because CloudDNS does not support split horizon configurations).
Note b: Cees informed me that the domain squeakfoundation.com still existed in his portfolio. I agreed ditching it, assuming you all would have done the same.
Best regards
-Tobias
