I'll look into this as soon as possible. Right now I can't get to the gmane website, but as soon as I can get more information about this process I'll move it along as well as I can and let you know about the progress.

please do. This is nice to have the complete mailing-list archived in one single place.
Unfortunately, I can't because I'm not list admin... From http://gmane.org/import.php : "The list admin/owner should OK this before the archive is imported. If you're the list admin, please say so in the email where you request the import. If not, please get in touch with the list admin first and get an approval before you request the import. The list admin often has access to an mbox format mail archive for the list, so get the URL for the archive at the same time."
If admins are busy, I can proceed alone but need temporary right on the mailing-list to do this. Thus the mailing-list will be archived in several places, which is good in case of failure.

Cees,
As one of the 'official' list admins for the squeak-dev list could you please send the following email text to Lars Magne Ingebrigtsen of gmane ( larsi+gmane@gnus.org ) requesting that the gmane archive be updated with the full archive of squeak-dev list posts please?
Lars,
Please find a gzip archive of the
http://lists.squeakfoundation.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/squeak-dev
mailing list at
http://discuss.squeakfoundation.org/squeak-dev.mbox.gz
and please import this into the gmane.comp.lang.smalltalk.squeak.general archive at your earliest convenience. Note that, even gzipped, this is a 109MB file.
Thank you
Hi Ken,
I've just discovered that the task will be maybe a bit more complicated. It seems that there is an older mailing-list here: http://www.create.ucsb.edu/squeak/ but unfortunately html-based, which should be quite difficult for Lars to deal with. Maybe it is possible to get an mbox-file like (Stephen Travis Pope seems to be the author of the page) but I don't know. If you have already mailed to Lars, could you see with him if it is a great problem to deal with html-based mailing-list archive ? If yes, I can try to contact Stephen to know more about this.

I've already contacted Lars and sent him a link to an mbox file of the current list archives.
Thanks for pointing out this archive. I've now also email Mr. Pope to see if we can get those posts in some other more easily handled format.
