Hi,
while fixing Squeak incompatibilities with Aida6.4-Janko.5 Aida wanted to do a hourly backup.
This failed because of missing OsProcess. I don't want to cope with that right now so anyone knows how to disable the backups?
Next thing I ran into again is climbing the stack.
Login as admin. Go to Settings. Select Tab Sites. Reselect Tab "Main settings" to get the Error.
Reason is, that I commented out the check for context arguments size > 2 earlier.
So it seems we cannot use this version until someone (Janko obviously) finds time to fix this for Squeak.
BTW I went back to first assuring latest Aida to work in trunk because I ran into too many problems when trying to run scribo.
How to proceed?
Cheers
Herbert
Hi Janko,
Res, mi tega ne more storiti sami.
Thanks, Chris
It would be great if you could push things a bit so Squeak has a working Aida/Scribo. Herbert's done some great work uncovering the problems, but I think it's too much for him to do it alone. It's enough for us to have to update SqueakSite to 6.4 and move the data.
Really, we cannot do this ourselves. We need your help. If the Squeak4.3 cannot have a reliable Aida/Scribo, then when we get our new server (which I hope will be soon) then we will not be able to use anything from aidaweb.si. Aida will be left behind for plain HTML until another solution is found. The other members of the SOB will harass me about this, but I'll say that Aida/Scribo simply has no working version in Squeak4.3.
If Aida/Scribo is going to be Pharo only, then I think we need to know that sooner rather than later.

Hi Chis,
we still have the alternative to try the current stable Aida 6.4.final. It was just my desire to try the latest which Janko already uses in Aidaweb.si.
Then we need to figure out what scribo to use, then which version of SqueakSite. There's some work to do and we'll know the results only when we're finished.
BTW I'm impressed you can write Slovene :-))

Herbert

Hi guys,
I just publish new Aida with a patch to overcome Squeak/Pharo differences and now it seems to work and we can continue.
Sorry guys for unresponsiveness but this bug took some deeper thoughs to be able to solve it last, pretty busy, week. And yes, let we extend a week with one more, what do you think? :)
Also, Chris, you certainly don't need to ask Google for translations to Slovenian, this looks like more and more frequent spam. But I certainly appreciate your intent :)
Best regards Janko

as the man with the opposite Midas touch does well :-)
Found a glitch in WebAdminApp, logging in Admin and Extranet, going to sessions and wanting to sort the list by the non existent field "Login". Maybe this even happens in VW.
Secondly I think you need to incorporate the extension method ScaledDecimal>>printDotString reflecting that ScaledDecimal has a Fraction vs. is a Fraction, so numerator and denominator should be sent to fraction instead of the ivars. This is just a bug in Squeak.
Third: Object>>firstRequestFromStack needs a resolution for Squeak as commenting out the check for more than one arguments gets into problems otherwise.
This would be a show stopper.
Fourth: initHourlySnapshot failed again but it should be easy to find out where to deactivate a WebScheduled event. Maybe the real Server runs on Linux so we should think of reactivating it in the real thing.
Cheers,
Herbert
