Suggestion for Squeak Website

I would like to suggest it making it easier to find how an instance can call one of its own methods from another method. I've searched and found nothing. Maybe it's that I don't know how to search for this info. Any suggestions to me would greatly be appreciated. Standing by. squeak zip-freezes

hi i downloaded the squeak-zip to windows vista and when i try to unzip it itjust freezes. what could be the problem? staffan --------------------------------- Går det långsamt? Skaffa dig en snabbare bredbandsuppkoppling. Sök och jämför hos Yahoo! Shopping.

Hi Antonio and the web team, I just changed /Community, Education corner to: Squeakpolis is the website that include anything the teachers need using Squeak at their classrooms in Extremadura, Spain as you proposed, Antonio, and removed a Small-land link from /Projects. Suggestion for Squeak Website

Shouldn't the main Squeak website have 3.10 by now? I'm working on a re-write of my tutorial and intend, among other changes, to have the student begin with Squeak 3.10. The thing is, I'm wanting to capture screen-shots of the web page where it is found as well as the original opening desktop. Not trying to nag, but I remember seeing the messages about 3.10 being released weeks ago. Thanks for the input, Ken. We don't provide a link to seaside and other squeak variations on the squeak.org download page. But, we do have a brief explanation, with links, on the front page. These links take the user right to the appropriate website that has much more info than we can give at the squeak.org site e.g.: ============== * Seaside is a framework for developing sophisticated dynamic web applications by using Continuations dramatically easing the complexity of web application development. * Croquet is an open source software platform for creating deeply collaborative 3D multi-user online applications. It features a network architecture that supports communication, collaboration, resource sharing, and synchronous computation among multiple users. * Sophie is a digital media assembly tool to combine images, text, video, and audio into a single multimedia document such as slideshows, presentations and annotated video ============== Is the request to have something like this on the download page? New experience improvement request on #Squeak

A new back-to-Smalltalker had requests today on #Squeak for a bit better info for what is included in downloads. >as a re-newbie, i'd just like some clarity on the contents of squeak packages. for example is "seaside" included a brief description of seaside would be nice-to-have. i shouldn't have to chase that down across the 'Net. So basically before clicking a download, whether it be for a dev, web, croquet or other image, what is included in the download? And of course, as part of improving the new person's experience, all-included QuickStart downloads would be a potential improvement. Ken G. Brown

USB for Squeak

Dear Squeak: I wish Squeak had some USB-Hid support. I know it has RS-232 serial port support. I posted a request to hire somebody to build this for Squeak but not so far nobody is interested. Do you know of anybody who knows both Hardware & Software to write a USB plugin for Squeak ? I would be happy to pay them to do this & donate that work to the Squeak project. Thanks James

cannot access tutorial

Hi: I have an opportunity to attend a workshop at LAUSD INFO TECH this Saturday. We will be learning about Squeak. I tried to go to the Squeak website to use a tutorial, to find out if I want to take the workshop. I am a first grade teacher. The message when I tried to use the tutorial was Windows blocked the software because it doesn't know the publisherss The contacts info gives your email, but no telephone number.
